So here is the main reason I haven't posted anything for a short while. I have been thinking about doing these for quite a while now but only recently went for it. I have to say I am glad I did. For now I have only done bracelets however I have plans for other pieces of jewellery as well as other bracelet designs.
The image above is the first I made which was for my fiancée. Made with an alternating sequence of light pink and purple studs threaded onto stretchy elasticated cord. This elastic is thinner than the stuff I am using now as this was my first one to see how well it would work.
I also made this one for my little daughter to match her mothers.
It was quite tricky to get the knack right for drilling the 1 x 1 round plates (aka studs). I did first look into the studs that already have holes in them but sadly the colour availability of these were too limiting. I do however quite enjoy drilling the holes into these. It's strangely therapeutic.
I am a member of various Lego related facebook pages and I posted these up on one of the more popular ones. I have already sold half a dozen of these to various people. The bracelets aren't just for females either, I've had both male and female people buy these bracelets in a variety of colours. For both adults and children. I am tailoring the bracelets to the person's wrist measurement. I allow an extra 1cm or 1/2 an inch approx so that the bracelet is not tight. Below are pictures of some other bracelets I have made for people.
As you can see the first few bracelets I hand drew the headers for the grip seal bags. They looked too plain without it. However I have now printed myself some better looking header cards. Here is another bracelet I made for someone yesterday.
As previously stated this is just the start of my ideas for hand made jewellery using Lego. Here is a piece of concept art for another bracelet design. Once I find a minifigure I am willing to sacrifice I will be making one to see how it looks and just as important; how it feels on the wrist when worn.
So that brings us almost at the end of this post. I really do enjoy making these and I have definitely found myself a new hobby. I am happy to make these for people just like you so if you would like one then please get in touch. They are tailored to fit your wrist. Or whomever the bracelet is for. I can get both solid and transparent studs in a wide variety of colours. There are a select few rarer studs that are harder to obtain but not entirely impossible. These would however cost more.
If you would like a bracelet then please get in touch. For the stud bracelets they are £6 each + P&P (Which is £1 to Mainland UK). I am happy to ship overseas please enquire as to how much P&P would be to your country if you are outside of the UK.
You will need to specify what colour(s) you would like. Whether you want them in a specific sequence. Your wrist measurement exact + 1CM or 1/2 an inch.
You can pay via PayPal or bank transfer, please specify when contacting me.
Note that if you pay with paypal then an additional 3.4% +£0.20 will be added to cover PayPal's fees.
I am a hobbyist and any money gained from making these goes back into more Lego products and other related goodness to review on my blog.
Below are all the available colours for both solid and transparent studs. The majority of them are easy to obtain if I don't have them already. I will let you know if you select a colour that is too expensive or difficult to obtain, you will then have the choice to pay extra or select another colour. - Solid Dark Red for example is difficult to get.
